When you’re preparing to exhibit at a show, there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes action with many players involved in the process. Finding the right exhibit company that suits your needs is extremely important, as they’re the ones who will be designing/building your exhibit structure. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a company to work with.

1. Experience

The first thing you should look at when deciding on an exhibit company to work with is their level of experience in the field. An exhibit company with many years of experience will possess a thorough knowledge of the trade show industry that will give you an edge in designing and building your display. Furthermore, veterans of the trade show industry will most likely have access to exclusive resources that they’ve acquired over the years. Some potential questions you can ask is how long the exhibit house has been in business, how many displays and structures they make every year, and how many different types of trade shows do they have experience with.

2. Project Portfolio

When choosing between different exhibit companies, it’s a good idea to give their project portfolio a thorough look. Doing so will give you an idea of what the company is capable of, what specific style of design they may have, what areas they may specialize in, and the overall quality of work they produce. These are all very valuable pieces of information to consider, especially if you need the exhibit company to come up with the design and specs of your booth from scratch. A company’s portfolio should let you know what you can expect if you choose to work with them.

3. Completion Timeline

Another thing you should consider is how long it will take for the exhibit company to finish the project. Even if you find the perfect company to work with, it is ultimately pointless if they cannot finish designing and building your booth in time for the show. Take into consideration a company’s level of efficiency and time management. A big part of trade show preparation involves meeting deadlines, so whichever company you work with should be able to accomplish at least that much.

4. Customer Service

The most important aspect to examine in an exhibit company is their customer service. As their client, you should never feel as if you are unimportant or bothersome. In fact, the exhibit company should make you feel valued and be willing to work with you through all your needs to create a display that you are satisfied with. After meeting with a potential company, try to gauge their level of helpfulness and dedication to your project. You should come out of that meeting feeling confident that they will take you and your ideas seriously and will be easy to work with. You should also request referrals and testimonials from past clients just to get more assurance.
