Episode 16 of Exhibitor Insight features Kyle from U Ace Inc. at SEMA 2018. Kyle introduces the newest products from the company this year, and we discover their secret for overcoming certain challenges that they faced during the trade show.
Although U ACE INC is an experienced brand when it comes to trade shows, they faced and got over challenges during the show like every other brand. Our mission was to create a booth which enabled showcasing a high number of products. Here are some of the challenges Kyle from U ACE INC mentions in the video:
1. Pre-Show Marketing
This is a challenge that some of the companies don’t even pay attention however pre-show marketing is so essential that it might completely change the results of your trade show. Informing and notifying loyal customers about your trade show is not the challenge, the challenge is to make them think that they should come to the show.
2. Size and Design of Your Booth
Do you need a small or medium size booth? Do you have to go with a larger island booth? What elements do you need the most? For example, you’d be surprised how many people think they need an enclosed conference room only to discover that their clients are more comfortable with an informal meeting area. Island exhibits can include presentation area(s), multiple kiosks, seating areas, ample storage, large format graphics, overhead signage, product displays. While these are still possible in inline displays, the space limits how much can be done. These are some of the crucial points you have to take in consideration for a problem-free trade show experience.
3. Successful Demo Stations
If your products need a demonstration, it is crucial to have demo benches in your booth, but as Kyle says in the video when you have a high number of products for demo benches, it becomes harder to give each one of them the space they need. Planning before the show precisely and bringing the products you need to showcase in your booth requires flawless communication between your team members.
4. Unrelated Giveaways
For attendees, trade show free promotional gifts have always been the number one priority. However, not every free item is attractive or effective. The free stuff better has a purpose. A bank that gives away nifty calculators. Smart. The chiropractor who gives away a pen shaped like a spine. Also smart. But a software company that gives away plastic water bottles? What’s the point? If your giveaways are not creative enough, unfortunately, they will just be a waste of money.
5. Team Work and Communication
Trade shows are always dynamic and fast-paced organizations. To keep up with speed, your team’s communication should be seamless. All of the team members should have in-depth knowledge of products and services that are presented in the show.
6. Improving Brand Presence
From your crew’s clothing to the graphics on your display, everything should be in harmony, creating an impeccable brand image. Your company logo and attention-grabbing pictures should be displayed as high-quality graphics and their placement in your booth are important as well. Attendees need clear, straightforward messages. That doesn’t mean your graphics can’t be colorful, witty, and creative. They just can’t be thematic chaos.
